ACADEMIC CALENDAR Bachelor programs offered in Faculty of Medicine & Allied Medical Sciences (FM&AMS) are based on an academic year that comprises of two semesters of eighteen teaching weeks each. In addition to semester system examinations, the students are required to pass the professional examinations conducted under the supervision of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council. The semester durations are generally as follows: | Preparatory Session & Professional Examinations Fall Semester Spring Semester | October to December January to May June to October | Programs offered in Faculty of Computer & Management Sciences (FC&MS), follow an academic year that comprises of two semesters of sixteen teaching weeks each, and a six week summer session. The semester durations are generally as follows: | Fall Semester Spring Semester Summer Session | October to April April to October June to August (Intervening Spring Semester) | The University is officially closed on the following occasions: | Eid-ul-Fitr Eid-ul-Adh-ha Aashoura Pakistan Day International Labour Day Independence Day Eid Milad-un-Nabi Birthday of Quaid-e-Azam | Four days beginning with 29th of Ramadan Four days beginning with 9th of Dhul Haijja Two days beginning with 9th of Muharram March 23 May 1 August 14 Rabi-ul-Awal 12 December 25 | The University observes all other holidays of national and cultural background announced by the Government.
